Lima: Paracas & Huacachina Oasis Day Trip with Wine & Dunes

1.Paracas & Huacachina Oasis Day Trip with Wine & Dunes

★★★★★★★★★★4.7 · 266 reviews · 16h 30m · from $100Our pick

Leave Lima around 4:00 to 5:00 am for Paracas’ Ballestas Islands, where you’ll see sea lions, penguins, birds, and the Chandelier Lines. Continue to CulturPisco for pisco and wine tasting, then finish at Huacachina with a dune buggy ride and sandboarding before returning to Lima late.

“Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about the tour because it is a very long day with a 4:30 am pick up. However, it was well worth it! You get to do and learn so much in one day. Mayer was a great guide and kept us organized and on time the whole way. The islands were beautiful, the sand buggy rides were a blast and the food at the winery was great. We highly recommend. Definitely dress in layers because the island trip can be chilly but the dessert of course is hot.”

2.Winery and Pisco Distillery tour

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 82 reviews · 5 to 6 hours (approx.) · from $30Top rated

Spend five to six hours touring Ica’s pisco country with guides such as Sam, William, or Raúl. Visit Tacama, El Arrabal, La Vieja Bodega Lovera, and Bodega Nietto, tasting wines, piscos, and cachinas along the way. Hotel pickup, small groups, and lunch time are included.

“My husband and I had a blast on our Pisco tour! The tour company was super communicative and gave great instructions on where to meet up since we were coming into town via bus as opposed to at one of the local hotels. We met up with our tour guide William and he was a total rock star and took us around to three Pisco Distilleries in the Ica area. Some were nicer than others but all were quite fun to go and see. It felt like touring around with a local friend as opposed to a "tour guide". Thanks for a great time William!”

Start with Lima pickup and a three-hour ride to Pisco Airport for a Cessna 208 Caravan flight over the Nazca Lines. Then ride Huacachina’s dunes by buggy, sandboard, taste wine and pisco near Ica, and return to Lima with guides such as Rosie or Alexandra.

“We got a text the night before confirming our pick up at 5am. Alexandra met us out side our hotel and the driver (Kemsi, I think his name was) came a few minutes later to pick us up. The car had bottles of water for us and breakfast. Alexandra told us our itinerary for the day on the way to the Oasis. On our journey she guided us through the history and geography of Peru. She was very knowledgable and answered all the questions we had. At the oasis we took a tour around before heading up to the sand dunes where we went for a drive in the buggies…”
